Category: Working with NetDocuments
NetDocuments makes it easy to save and upload documents from your computer into the platform. Whether you are adding a single file or uploading an entire folder of documents, the process is straightforward.
Uploading from the Web Interface #
- Navigate to the workspace or folder where you want to upload the document.
- Click the Upload button (typically shown as an upward arrow icon) in the toolbar.
- Select the file or files from your computer.
- NetDocuments will upload the documents and automatically assign them to the current workspace.
- Once uploaded, you can edit the document profile to add metadata such as document type, author, and matter number.
Uploading from ndOffice #
If you have ndOffice installed, you can also save documents directly from Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint into NetDocuments. Open the document in your Office application, go to File > Save As, and select your NetDocuments location.
Supported File Types #
NetDocuments supports most common file types including Word documents, PDFs, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, images, and more.
Tips #
- Use meaningful file names before uploading so documents are easier to find later.
- Always verify the workspace and folder before uploading to ensure the document lands in the correct location.
- If uploading a large batch of files, consider doing it during off-peak hours for faster upload speeds.
